We have recently expanded our office hours for your convenience. We are here for you:
If your child is sick, we understand that it is important for him or her to be seen that same day. We leave many “sick” appointment slots open every day to accommodate you. We have early morning appointments, as well as evening and weekend hours reserved for these same-day appointments.
We want to be accessible to you in this way, but also through answering your questions over the phone. If you don’t know whether your child needs to be seen, just call the office, and one of our nurses or pediatricians will help guide you in that decision. If a nurse cannot answer your question, or you wish to speak to the doctor, just say so. We make all of our calls back on the very same day.
The staff and doctors at Irondequoit Pediatrics truly value each relationship we have with our patients and their families. We make sure to really listen to your concerns because we are with you every step of the way.
We also feel it is important to give every patient the time that he or she needs. For instance, if you have a more involved issue (such as behavior/ADHD, asthma, obesity or chronic headaches), we make sure to schedule extra time for your visit. We work hard to be on time for each appointment, however, realize that if you have a concern, we will not cut your visit short.
We value the time we have set aside to see and treat your child. We do not double book appointments. If you’re not able to keep an appointment, we would appreciate a 24-hour notice. (There may be a charge for missed appointments.) If you do miss an appointment, we will reschedule, although there may be a delay. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we will do our best to accommodate you. However, on certain days it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.
Annual Physical Appointments
If you need to schedule an annual physical for school, camps or sports, we recommend that you do so each year around the time of your child's birthday. Some insurance companies only pay for one physical per the calendar year once your child reaches the age of 2, so we try to consider that when scheduling your "well child checks". Also, if you would rather schedule your child's physical during school or summer vacation times, please remember that these slots fill up fast. Try to schedule these appointments as soon as possible. Of course, one of the things that we are well known for is making exceptions to the rule, so we are happy to always find a time that works best for you.
Please give us 48 hours notice of your monthly medication refills. Call us during regular business hours or ask your pharmacy to notify us. We will either call the refill into your pharmacy or send it electronically.
Advance notice is recommended for all referrals. It is helpful to know if a selected specialist participates in your plan and if they require a written referral or authorization. We will assist you with getting authorization for referrals to a specialist or a diagnostic test.
