As Corona-virus is surging across America, New York State continues to hold steady with a lower number of cases. We have accomplished this because of the serious measures everyone has taken to prevent the spread of the virus. That is why it is extremely important to continue to wear masks in public, wash hands frequently, and practice safe physical distancing from others. We will continue to provide a safe environment in our office to protect our patients and our staff from getting infected.
We are grateful that we have had plenty of warm weather that allows families and children to go outside. While there is less of a risk of catching the virus when outside, it is still extremely important to wear a mask if you cannot stay 6 feet away from others. Be aware of who you are around and whether you can trust that they have been mindful of social distancing and that they effectively wear a mask. Find a safe social "pod" or "bubble".
WE ARE STILL HERE TO HELP YOU! Please contact the office if you are in need of an appointment, and we will find a safe way to help you. We continue to encourage all our patients to stay current with their well visits and vaccinations, while at the same time limit the number of patients physically in our office at the same time. Here are some of the ways that we are taking care of our patients:
- Family Well Visits: Multiple siblings may come in together at one time. Please call the office ahead so we may prepare for your family Well visit.
- Telemedicine Visits: We will use these visits in order to prevent our exposure to you, and your exposure to us. We can learn a lot during these visits and determine whether you/your child need to be seen later in the day in our office.
- Car Visits: We may schedule a visit from the safety of your car. We can perform simple examinations, testing, and vaccinations without having you or your child come into our office
- NYS Approved Delay in School Physicals: Required school physicals do not need to be completed until 2021 and sports physicals will be valid for 2 years instead of one year. We understand that it may be inconvenient to have to delay your child’s school physical, but please understand that we may not “squeeze in” appointments so that we can adhere to strict infection control guidelines around the number of patients allowed in our office at one time.
Goodbye (for now) Dr. Gajdek and Hello to Dr. Meghady Khodak. Dr. Khodak will be with us for the next two years as her husband completes a fellowship in Rochester. We are very excited welcome her to our team. Dr. Gajdek will return next year after her husband completes his fellowship in Columbus, OH.
Dr. Meghedy Khodak, MD, was born and raised in sunny Southern California. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of California, Irvine. She attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine, and completed her general pediatric residency at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She enjoys not only the thought that goes into diagnosis and treatment, but, even more so, loves having the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with her patients and their families on a more personal level. Her goal is to help parents create a solid foundation of health for their children, and to educate on mindful decision making in order to provide stepping stones for successful academic achievements and ultimately adulthood.
She is looking forward to exploring all that scenic Rochester has to offer over the next two years as her husband completes his fellowship training program. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, photo & videography, travel, and exploring new cultures and cuisines.
While we are all trying to remember to wear our masks and stay 6 feet apart from others, it is important not to forget about pool safety, sunscreen, bug spray, and other outdoor safety measures. Please visit the links below:
