Irondequoit Pediatrics Announces Integrated Pediatric Care

We are excited to welcome Dr. Jenna Eisen to our practice, a licensed clinical psychologist, with the initiative of making Irondequoit Pediatrics a fully integrated pediatric practice. Now more than ever we need to focus on behavioral/mental health and well-being for our patients of all ages and their families.

Jenna Eisen, PhD, MSEd is a pediatric, family psychologist. Dr. Eisen received her PhD in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in 2019 and completed internship on the Child and Adolescent Track at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). Dr. Eisen continued on at URMC as a postdoctoral fellow on the Integrated Care Family (Pediatrics) Track specializing in integrated primary care, family systems, and medical family therapy. She served as chief fellow and earned a post-degree certificate in marriage and family therapy. Dr. Eisen is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Pediatric Psychology, and the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association.

Dr. Eisen has extensive experience working with children, teens, young adults, and families around issues such as developmental and behavioral needs, parenting, difficult adjustments, anxiety, depression, medical illnesses, and school concerns. Her professional interests focus on integrated care, the mind-body connection, improving patient-provider communication, and topics related to diversity and cultural humility.

In her free time, Dr. Eisen enjoys hiking, cooking, gardening, and exploring the Finger Lakes Region. She is also currently learning Spanish. Dr. Eisen is looking forward to working closely with patients, families, and all members of the team at Irondequoit Pediatrics in order to provide patient-centered care that is focused on improving well-being and quality of life.

MENTAL/BEHAVIORAL HEALTH and BACK TO SCHOOL

All parents are invited to attend a zoom session this month! This meeting is for parents of kids of all ages to help their kids enter school and promote mental health and well-being. If you are interested in learning how to help make this fall a smooth transition, please join us! Due to COVID we will be hosting this as a zoom, call the office to sign up to attend!

Hosted by Dr. Eisen (our new psychologist) and Dr. Savage . We will cover the following topics:

  1. Parenting in today’s world and in times of uncertainty

  2. How to set your kids up for success utilizing positive attitude and other techniques to promote wellness

  3. How to acclimate into school/socially after being away from school

  4. General sleep hygiene, routine, etc.

  5. How to connect with school for help

  6. How to connect with us for help

  7. School refusal by the student and today’s world

  8. Attention issues – when to be concerned
