Dr Bennett

Douglas Bennett, M.D., F.A.A.P., has been a practicing pediatrician for more than 20 years.

He trained and did a year of Chief Residency at Schneider Children's Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center before becoming a full partner in a private practice in Mamaroneck, New York in Westchester County. In 2004, he moved back to Rochester and joined Irondequoit Pediatrics in 2005.

He says, "While I have fun interacting with children during a visit, there's a certain amount of "sleuth work" involved in finding out what happened and what is currently happening. I have to be creative in taking a medical history and in the physical exam, but that's what makes my days interesting and keeps me looking forward to coming to the office each day."

Dr. Bennett, a board-certified pediatrician and member of the Monroe County Medical Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York, is also a faculty member at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He is active on multiple community committee's for health care and management. He has been a contributor to Genesee Valley Parent Magazine and Doctor’s Advice and has appeared on 292-BABY as a guest pediatrician. Dr. Bennett, his wife, and three children live in Pittsford.
